My name is Martyn Fisher and I have worked in the UK textile industry since 1983. I have always been involved with garment linings, pocketing fabric or related garment components like waistbanding. From 1997 to January 2008 I worked for Morada, one of the great names in garment linings.
I was Managing Director of the linings division from 2002. During my time at Morada I was responsible for setting up the supply network and established close relationships with key suppliers in Asia and Europe.
I also opened the Morada sales office in Hong Kong and was in the process of establishing Morada Asia in Shanghai in 2005 when the situation at Morada UK took a turn for the worse. I won’t bore you with the details but there were big changes and things were never quite the same.
Morada closed in January 2008, at which point I decided to start my own business. 18 months down the line I am still here! Not the ideal time to start a new business but I have been successful and had great support from a number of customers, for which I am very grateful.
I believe that Fisher Fabrics provides a unique service. I am 100% committed to my customers and their requirements. I am not looking to be the biggest player in the global garment lining business, I just want to make dealing with Fisher Fabrics a simple and enjoyable process for my customers.
